It is almost frightening how much our perceptions of ourselves can hinder the accomplishment of our goals.
For example, have always had the perception of myself of being uncoordinated and unbalanced. For some time, I have wanted to get on my bike in a certain way - where you stand next to your bike, put the leg farthest from the bike on the pedal and swing your inside leg up and over the seat - I always thought it looked so cool! When I tried to do it I would get discouraged because I couldn't balance on the bike long enough to do it. But today after Morgan and I were done with class she talked me through it and I was able to do it! And I was able to do it later all by myself.
I am thankful for friends who can help me, and for a Heavenly Father who always believes in me. I think what we should get out of our heads and forget our fears of inadequacies we can truly accomplish great things. We should believe that we can, not that we can't.

I agree 100% with this. How we view ourselves can have a huge impact on what we can and can't accomplish. That image of ourselves, along with the snooze button, are the number one killer of my goals.
This is Eric Collyer by the way.
I am so happy for you <3 And I think it's cool that you blogged about it. :)
I agree with this, also. Just keep practicing and you will become a pro! I am also grateful that our Heavenly Father always believes in us. We CAN accomplish great things if we believe in ourselves. I'm enjoying your blog, it is very interesting and brings up lots of things to think about.
Love it!
I tend to do this a lot. Because I have some talents which are very natural for me, when I try something and it appears to be more difficult for me than other people, I sometimes give up and let them take over. But really, it's so exhilarating when you achieve something you've failed at before! Way to go :)
Your post caused me to reflect upon a few quotes that my high school Cross Country and Track coach used to say. "You're body can do a lot more than you think it can" and "If you believe, you can and you will". A lot of the success that we achieve while here on earth is dependent upon us overcoming what our mind tells us we can't do. Great post Sarah!!
YEA SARAH! Sometimes, our mind sets bounds that limit our abilities! So, breaking these limitations is something we have to learn. And once we do, it is very addicting :) I'm sure you know what I'm talking about! You get an 'A' on your first test in a tough class, and all of a sudden, you're working super hard to get the next one, and it's fun. Or you learn how to ride a bike, and the next thing you want is to go faster, try new trails, show your friends! It's addicting!
Did you consciously choose to say yes to Morgan helping you learn because of the yes rule? Or did you realize after the fact that the yes rule rules? Just curious because I remember you saying you didn't like the yes rule last time we talked about it:) Either way thanks for the inspiring post!
Life is truly a grand adventure when we start saying yes to people and ideas.(Except when we know for a fact they are wrong. Which is why the movie 'Yes Man' is a perversion of the yes rule- I said yes to turning it off).
I've found that Heaven is often behind those things we say yes to. And that's my yes to commenting on your blog!!
